Pillow posting.......

Found an orphan block and some lovely Phillip Jacobs fat quarters in the stash and made a pretty pillow! They are everywhere in blogland lately--have you seen all the posts about pillows??! Here's the back. Always like a zipper (or an 'envelope') closure for washing purposes.....
They make great gifts and this is for a 50th birthday this weekend. (Hope she likes it ;-)
Have to share this wonderful gift I received from my DH's family........
A White treadle machine! I forgot to take a picture of her when the cabinet was open! She's in a safe corner for now while I research finding a belt and more info on her. (She's very pretty and will be in a future post!)
Can't get away without grandbaby pictures.....He'll be 6 months the end of February and she's almost 14 months!! Happy sewing :-)

Been a long time....

Last time I posted, this little quilt was getting started. She just needs her binding (it's ready to go) and she'll be ready for a baby shower in January...here's the FMQ'g 'round the big pink border---
Sure had fun with that!!
Six inches of snow on the ground now, the butterflies all gone...Baking for Christmas has begun tho' and keeping things very simple this year.
Here's who it's all about in our family this Christmas....
Stay warm and well and have fun sewing!!  MERRY CHRISTMAS  to all :-)  !!

Baby quilt, butterfly, and blueberry muffins.....

It's still a flimsie, finished today, but the sun was out and I wanted to get a picture over the picnic table. It will be gifted to a new neighbor and their brand new baby girl. (hope they like it ;-)
This will be a finish after DD's robot cheater quilt is quilted and bound--first thing first!!
Tried my best to capture a good picture of this butterfly on the old-fashioned verbena. He sure was pretty.
Made some tasty blueberry muffins this afternoon...hoping to have a couple left for coffee tomorrow morning. Will be keeping an eye on the other family members!! ;-)  Have a great weekend and happy sewing...

Just a wee post....

A little tag blanket made for DD and DSIL's baby boy due to arrive in August. (went a little crazy with the ribbon tags ;-)
Here's the cute parents-to-be at their first (of 2) baby shower this past weekend.
And just 'cause she's cute and turned 6 months.....
...here's our first grandchild, Logan, outside for her photo shoot!
Have a happy week, all! Hope to get some sewing in on the T-shirt quilt!!

Time to try a T-shirt quilt...

One of my sweet SIL's asked if we could put together a T-shirt quilt for their oldest daughter graduating high school soon.....Having never made one, I didn't hesitate to say YES and proceed to look up directions everywhere I could think of!!  ;-)  Feelin' pretty confident now....
She'll be attending this fine university where our oldest son also went. He donated this OLD t-shirt to the cause.
Here's the auditioning of sashing and
arranging...so far I like it. DS's lovely wife helped me pick the patterned fabric. The two smaller squares and an outside border
will be this dark green batik from the stash.
And just because she's so cute--here's a picture of DGD Logan (and her boyfriend Evan) at the ACS Relay for Life this past weekend.
Happy Sewing all!  :-)

mug rugs and more......

Mug rugs for a couple friends that don't read this blog...one March birthday and one April birthday. Really like the backing fabric of both also!
DH and I took an anniversary weekend in Marine City, MI at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast named The Heather House...
If you ever get the chance, look them up! Beautifully decorated and our hostess, Barbara, was wonderful. Another couple staying had the same anniversary!
There's a very nice quilt shop in the main shopping district that features a quilters' retreat in a lovely appointed upper floor. Up to 6 quilters can stay and sew to their hearts content! Quilting Dreams is the name.
Joan DeRue is the owner who was nice enough to give us a tour of her shop--upstairs and down!

Her website is http://quilting-dreams.com/ and she specializes in reproduction fabrics.
One of the best parts of Marine City is the St. Clair River and the freighter traffic you can watch float by!!
Have a great week and enjoy some scenery and some sewing!! :-)
