It's been such a lovely day.....

Woke up just in time to see the Royal couple walk back down the aisle and out to greet the 'wedding guests' waiting to catch a glimpse of them. May they be truly happy.....
Remember these??? Our little group's strip sets... Well, they need labels to go with--so, with some leftover white muslin triangles--I came up with these! Kinda cute, i'm thinkin'. (Hope the group thinks so too! ;-)
This cutie is LeeAnn, our houseguest for the weekend. Our BIL & Dad are away, so she's keeping our Gracie company. She's such a smart, pretty pup.
Have a nice weekend, all. :-)

top secret correspondence....

Who says 'secrets don't make friends'?? This top secret envelope came today. i followed the directions--inside i found something i've been longing to find & try!!
Bobbin washers!! From my friend Judy, or should we just call her 'J'?? One's already in the Bernina and she's seeming a little quieter...we'll see about the 'birdnest' prevention. Thankyou...J ;-)
My DD was sweet enough to come with me to The Village Quilt Shoppe in Lake Orion to help find a background fabric for the baby boy quilt. (This one's really giving me the raspberries!!) The calico was too busy, white is too--white! So this is what we decided on: Primitive Muslin by Primitive Gatherings for Moda.
Whaddya think?? It seems soft & restful with the busy blocks............
happy sewing....... :-)

i'll keep workin' on it--maybe i'll like it better as it gets bigger.....? Happy Easter all! Happy sewing!! :-)

delinquent blogging....

Blogging took a backseat last week...last couple weeks! Did gift a mug rug to my BFF i've known since 6th grade, Gail. She's a new grandma and will be happy to tell you all about Olivia!! Her birthday is 4-27 so she also got some thread and curved safetypins too. She's a beautiful, self-taught quilter!! The pretty Spring colored thread was for me--BOGO free at Joann's!!
Fabric for a baby boy quilt, due in August. Want to try using the 60 degree double-strip ruler i purchased when Penny Haren visited the OCQG.
Just a sneaky pic of the 'rose challenge' quilt ready to be quilted!! It's turned out so nice so far. I'll share the whole thing after June's meeting ;-) !
Happy sewing & Happy Easter to you!!

Michigan Spring !

Pretty green shoots...soon to be snowdrops!! 45 degrees yesterday--77 degrees today! We'll take it!! We NEED it.
Not much sewing done lately. Had 3 four-legged house guests for 10 days. Their humans were in HiltonHead S.C. Maybe they brought these temps backwith them!!
Just puttered a la Bumblebeans 15 minutes with Kaffe scraps and cut them to 3" pieces. Perhaps a coin tablerunner for DD's dining room?? Not sure what color to sash them with...thinking maybe linen-ee??
Enjoy the wonderful warmth & sunshine. Time to check out the garden catalogs!!

just thinkin'........

Just thinkin'---Why did we get snow/sleet/rain today and the temp's going to 60 degrees overnight??
---Why did my camera break while i was taking pictures of this lovely brid-to-be at Haberman Fabrics on Saturday?? i had more pictures to take!! >:-/
---Without a camera, i can't show you the very cool paper-pieced block that a very talented new member of our guild designed and shared with us...but that's ok 'cause she's soon to be published and it cannot be shown before then anyhoooo!
---Who says things don't happen for a reason?? I'm Just thinkin' they do!! :-)
