Guess what this is....!

It's darn near the most perfectly joined binding strips I've ever done--because of my BQFF Judy and this:
This neat little tool made it easy. It's called the Cut Right Bind Up tool by Quilters Paradise. Thanks, J!! Here's what the binding's attached to....

A baby quilt for our DS's best friend and his wife. The shower's Feb.18--so I'm WAY ahead of the game on this one!! :-)  It's backed with green flannel 'cause they're MSU Spartans....!

You have to try this recipe I printed off a sweet blogsite (whose name escapes me now!!) But this recipe is seriously fabulous!! 'Specially this time of year. Jim and I looked at each other and just said "Wow'.
Sure hope you try this, if you like lasagna....you won't be sorry!! (If the recipe is too small, I printed it from: http://www.afarmgirlsdabbles.com/ )  Enjoy!  And happy sewing this week...........

Ready, set, go........!

Errands have been run, got my hair cut (yeah!), visited with my sweet 90yr. old neighbor, have dinner ready to go AND....
the 9-patch pinned and up on the big utility table in the family room! Started some free motion circles in the 9 patches and plan to FMQ leaves in the sashings!! (hope this turns out ok...)

This is my first time joining this group and with Saturday off and no other pressing engagements ( ;-) I'm also hoping this will be a completed UFO for January.
Hope everyone has a project keeping them busy this weekend. Stay well and warm....and drive safe if we get the 5" of snow that's predicted!! Happy sewing!

A little UFO progress....

Judy L.'s UFO challenge for January is the number 5...it's the one that needed to be sashed, joined, sandwiched and quilted (and probably machine binded!) In other words--the one that is the most work of the 10 on my list. Well, I am determined to finish by month's end. So now that our wonderful company has gone and we're 'back to normal'....the blocks are sashed, joined and the first border is on!! (It's displayed on the 'design area' where it will eventually stay :-)
The border fabric looks sort of vintage and is busy enough to compete with the blocks. It's an old Cranston Village print that's been in the stash F O R E V E R......! Likin' how it looks and glad to use it up. It will be the binding fabric, too, after a wide white border for the next. The little sixteen patch pillow plays along nicely also. Even though this UFO, needed the most work...it is bringing me lots of joy as I work on it.

Flowers from DS at Christmas to close........have a good weekend and happy sewing!!

Free Motion Quiltalong.........

Enjoyed doing this FMQ'ing....I do need to practice turning the work a bit more tho'....It is a pretty stitch.
Our DD and DDIL are on the way back to Seoul, South Korea, after a 2 week visit with the families for the holidays....It sure is quieter around here...They asked if we could bake chocolate chip cookies and take them back with them for friends and coworkers. I was happy they thought my cookies were so worthy!! We had fun...

The rest of the weekend will be spent regrouping and starting progress on Judy L's #5 for January's UFO Challenge!!
Hope everyone enjoys a nice Sunday.........Happy Sewing!! :-)
