Time to play 'catch up'...........again

Look what came in Tuesday's mail!! Beautiful Aurifil thread (5 smaller multi-colored spools and one BIG 1300m spool I picked in the softest shade of grey...) AND the great color card with a bazillion color samples of real thread!! I left a comment on Susan's blog and later found out I'd won!! The gift is from this lovely site:
Cindy, from http://www.fluffysheepquilting.blogspot.com/ sent all  this straightaway with a sweet note. It's like Christmas in May!! Please click on their sites for a visit---both fun places to spend some time :-)
Also won some fabric fat quarters from Maureen that should be arriving shortly! Such a jackpot/bonanza of goodness for just typing my two cent's worth on a post I enjoyed....it doesn't get better than that!!
BQFF Barb stopped over Memorial Day with German chocolate truffles for me and DH on her return from her trip home. AND BQFF Judy sent a written tutorial example of some FMQ'g we saw! (she knows I'm a 'show me' type learner :-)

Here's a challenge for you gardening quilters (& my cute master gardener sister ;-) WHAT is this?? It was put to me as a challenge from my friend/neighbor of 20 years and I'm stumped....
If you're a quilter and you identify it, I'll send you something quilty....If you're my sister and you identify it, I'll take you to lunch ;-)  Quilters--this may require DH to be Mr Random Number Generator, depending on our response!! THANKS to you all, in advance :-)   P S if you click on the picture it should enlarge it for details....... Happy guessing!!

those sure are pretty flowers!...and i have no idea what they are but want to know! Are they good in shade or full sun or a bit of both? Are they perennial? And as for your friend Judy who drew those quilty flowers...love them! going to practice them right now!! :)

Giving credit where it is due, the free motion pattern was seen on Quilting Arts TV last week (episode 906). Pokey's guest, Ana Buzzalino, did a demo. It is a fun motif and much easier to do on fabric than with paper and pencil.
Regarding the purple flower, does it leave a purple stain on your fingers when you squeeze the flower? Very pretty flower - but you sure do have a way with plants!!

Congrats on your GREAT win!!! Wow. You'll have to collect every color! I have no idea what those flowers are....I barely know what a rose is!

Looked up the flower in my Perenial book - Cynoglossum nervosum or the Great Houndstongue. (not a very pretty name for such a pretty plant). Plant height to 2 ft. Flower width = 1.2"; full sun; well-drained soil; blooms in early summer. Pronounced Sin-o-gloss'-um. Says it's quite weedy but grown for its flowers. Fruit a collection of small, minutely prickly nutlets; moist soil; propagate by division in spring or root cuttings in fall. Check it out.
