We'll try this again.....!

I really DO like to paper piece--but this attempt at 'Century of Progress' went terribly wrong!! I copied it 'to actual size' and plunged in. Not only is it a half inch too small...
the 2 halves are upsidedown and backwards!! My husband took one look and said, "Mug rug"!! He's got something there! :-) Back to templates for me.Which is how 'Cats & Mice' turned out pretty OK--not perfect, though it got quite familiar with the seam ripper.......

Hope everyone else's weekend is going pretty OK too! Happy sewing all.

Wow! I hate to paper piece and you're not changing my mind here, lol...I do really love that second block though! And yes, I vote for mug rug too. You're such a good piecer, I need to come take some lessons!

I hate it when that happens. Sounds like the designer may have printed something wrong. Don't give up! And it will make a cute Mug Rug.

You are so good to remake it......I probably would have put a small border on it and called it "perfect"!
I ordered the book, I've been sucked in by all the beautiful blocks in blog land. Wish me luck :0)

Happy Sewing

Thanks for the block warning - I will take extra care so that I'll avoid the issues. I doubt I have yet done one block without unsewing... for me it's a big PP learning curve.
